The Year 7 and Year 8 STEM Rotation program provides every student with the opportunity to experience the breadth of learning offered within the STEM faculty before selecting elective subjects in Years 9 and 10. Across the two-year cycle, students rotate through Digital Technology, Applied Technology and 3D STEM, ensuring that every student completes each subject regardless of their starting point. This carefully designed pathway develops a broad foundation of technological knowledge, practical skills and design thinking while helping students discover their interests, strengths and future learning pathways.
Throughout the rotation, students engage in authentic, hands-on learning experiences that reflect the way technology, engineering and digital systems are used in the real world. They learn to investigate problems, generate and refine ideas, work safely with a range of tools and materials, develop digital solutions, communicate technical ideas and evaluate the effectiveness of their designs. Creativity, collaboration, innovation and sustainability are embedded throughout each course, encouraging students to become curious, connected learners who confidently apply the engineering design process and computational thinking to solve meaningful problems.
