School Uniform

In 2023, our founding community selected our logo and uniform through a consultative process, ensuring our school’s visual identity reflected both who we are and who we aspire to be.

The chosen design — the “Curly S” — represents the initials of Shirley Smith and brings together the handwritten and the mechanical, symbolising the connection between people, community and the institution of education. This design reflects our commitment to developing Curious, Connected Learners who balance creativity with structure, individuality with belonging.

Our signature colour, fresh green, was selected by the community and represents growth, renewal and possibility — a direct reflection of our motto, Grow With Us.

The Curly S features prominently on our uniform, creating a strong sense of identity and pride. Wearing the Shirley Smith High School uniform connects our students to a community grounded in compassion, courage, commitment and shared purpose.

Uniform Expectations

At Shirley Smith High School, wearing the school uniform is an important part of fostering belonging, equity and school pride. All students are expected to wear the full and correct uniform each day.

Expectations

• Students must wear approved Shirley Smith High School uniform items.
• Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times for safety.
• Hats are required during outdoor activities in line with our Sun Smart practices.

Non-Compliance

If a student is out of uniform, a note from a parent/carer is required. We understand that from time to time there may be genuine reasons for uniform issues, and we will work with families to provide support where needed.

Repeated failure to meet uniform expectations may result in follow-up in line with school procedures.

Equity and Support

We are committed to ensuring all students can meet uniform expectations. Families experiencing financial difficulty are encouraged to contact the school confidentially to discuss support options.
